Dec 6, 2005

We had been on the boat since Dec 3. So far we had a diesel leak on main engine, had to replace a bolt in the anchor roller pin, had a broken shear pin in the bow thruster and a broken bracket for the water pump on the generator.

The autohelm was working great and that was the problem Bob was asked to repair. The alternator was not charging the two new batteries that had just been installed. It was obvious that the boat needed a new alternator or those two new AGM batteries would soon be toast as they were not recharging properly.

A new Balmar Alternator was ordered and actually arrived in one day. A new bracket had to be made to mount the new alternator. Bob had to make two trips to Roadtown from Buck Island by dink. That took a whole day but we were fortunate the machinist was able to do it right away.
